Recently a close friend of mine posted a Facebook status saying: " Why do we have to wait till thing happen then we start to regret? Guess we are all humans ba."
I can really understand and feel it as I had too, regretted about something just three days ago. In our line, we face these situations and this was what happened. I had been following up with a client of mine to get her to get coverage for herself and her expecting twins for about 2 months. Its wasn't easy as the previous few policies that she got from me had all been terminated or lapsed. But as a friend and consultant, having known that she was pregnant, the first thing came to my mind was to get her covered.
Time and again the appointments were pushed and postponed to a later date or messages being ignored. Just three days back I received a missed call during my appointment and it was a call from her husband and then I was informed about her premature labour. That instant struck me hard and immediately I regretted not pushing her hard enough to apply for it sooner.
These situations really put me in a tough spot where I usually do not push my prospects and clients into buying and making rush decisions into taking up the programs. But yet when things really happen, I really felt I should be the one to be responsible for it as I should have been more aggressive and push for the closing of the cases.
So to be blamed or named as an aggressive consultant who push for sales or to regret not being able to sell it to my friends and clients that I cared so much for?
Which would you choose?
